A driver had a lucky escape after crashing into the side of a house and ending up inside a family's garage.

Pictures from the scene in the West Midlands showed the car embedded half-way through the garage, with numerous bricks covering the bonnet and the floor.

Emergency services were called after the black Volkswagen Polo lost control and ploughed into the property in the early hours of Saturday.

Police are trying to find the driver of the car following the incident in Kingfisher Close, Brownhills.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Kingfisher Close in Brownhills just after 5.30am this morning, following reports of a collision.

"A car had collided with wall and garage of a property. No one was reported injured.

"Police enquiries are currently on-going to trace the driver."
