Another fan has been arrested in connection with trouble at the Scottish Cup final at Hampden in May.

Officers have now made a total of 86 arrests in connection with the violence, disorder and vandalism during a pitch invasion after the match between Hibernian and Rangers earlier this year.

Following the final whistle on May 21, thousands of Hibs fans flooded on to the pitch at the national stadium in Glasgow to celebrate their team's 3-2 win over Rangers.

A smaller number of fans of the Ibrox side also ran on to the pitch, with some supporters from both sides involved in violent clashes.

Police confirmed on Thursday a 33-year-old man has been arrested over disorder at the match.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged violence and disorder at the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on Saturday, May 21.

"This brings the total number of arrests to date to 86. A full report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
