Four students killed in balcony collapse at housewarming
Ten others were taken to hospital after third-floor balcony collapsed under their feet in France.
Four young students died after a balcony collapsed under their feet during a housewarming party in France.
It is believed there were 15 people "aged around 20" on the apartment block's third-floor balcony when it buckled under their weight.
Ten students are being treated in hospital, with one in a critical condition, a spokesman from Angers University Hospital said.
Four others were treated at a clinic.
More than 70 firefighters rushed to the scene around 11.30pm on Saturday.
French media reported that the building, in Angers, western France, was constructed after the year 2000.
Two balconies beneath the one that collapsed were also broken clean from the block in the fall.
Hospital duty manager Michael Pichon told the France Info radio station that all of the victims "were about 20-years-old, certainly students."
