A teenager has been knocked down by a car in the west end of Glasgow.

The boy, believed to be in his early teens, has been taken to hospital following the crash in Scotstoun on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 2.40pm on Dumbarton Road between Methil Street and Scotstoun Street.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said police remain in attendance and the road has been closed while investigations get under way and the area is cleared.

She added the child has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital for treatment.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
