Michelle Obama has launched a stinging emotional attack on Donald Trump's "disgraceful" behaviour towards women.

The Republican nominee has been accused of of groping women and sexual assault - claims which he has vehemently denied and threatened to take legal action.

The allegations, printed in several US media outlets, come less than a week after a video from 2005 was released which showed Trump making vulgar comments about groping women.

Campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Manchester, New Hampshire, the First Lady said Trump's comments about women "intolerable" as she launched an emotional attack on the nominee.

In one of the most moving speeches of the campaign, Michelle Obama told the audience in New Hampshire: "I can't believe that I'm saying that a candidate for president of the United States has bragged about sexually assaulting women."

She added: "I can't stop thinking about this, it has shaken me to my core".

She dismissed the defence that it was "banter", saying: "This was not just a lewd conversation. This wasn't locker room banter."

"This is not politics as usual", she said, adding it is "disgraceful, intolerableand it doesn't matter what party you belong to", no woman "deserves to be treated this way".

She said: "This isn't about politics, it's about basic human decency, right and wrong."
