Vandals cause 'needless disruption' with street lights damage
The five lamp posts were targeted in Grangemouth, near Falkirk, on Monday morning.
Vandals have caused "needless disruption" by removing fuses from street lights.
Police said five lamp posts were damaged after they were opened up in Grangemouth, which put members of the public at "unnecessary risk".
The vandals removed the fuses or switched off circuit breakers in pillars on Newlands Road, Kerse Road, Union Road, Victoria Road and Dundas Street.
The incident occurred at around 6am on Monday, the police confirmed.
Constable Matthew Newell said: "Whoever did this knew what they were doing and did so with the objective of causing needless disruption.
"They are fortunate not to have been electrocuted and put themselves, and others, at unnecessary risk.
"We're now carrying out various lines of inquiry in relation to this matter and I want to hear from anyone who noticed any unusual behaviour in the areas of Newlands Road, Kerse Road, Union Road, Victoria Road and Dundas Street around the time of these offences."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
