Hurricane Matthew makes landfall in Haiti with 145mph speeds
Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, is still recovering from the earthquake in 2010.
Hurricane Matthew has made landfall in Haiti, flattening houses, flooding streets, and wreaking havoc on a country that has barely recovered from a devastating earthquake six years ago.
So far, at least four people are reported to have died, with thousands more seeking shelter from the storm
The hurricane reached speeds of up to 145 mph as it hit Haiti.
It is expected to remain powerful as it moves across Cuba, the Bahamas, and even parts of the east coast of the United States.
Matthew signals the beginning of another humanitarian disaster in the poorest nation in the western hemisphere.
There are still 55,000 people living in shelters as a result of the earthquake which struck in 2010.
Reports are circulating that southern Haiti has been cut off after a bridge collapse due to intense flooding.
