Michelin mix-up: Four-room B&B gets star instead of Highland hotel
Albannach in Alexandria included instead of Lochinver restaurant and hotel of same name.
One is a four-room B&B in West Dunbartonshire offering stays for £70 a night, the other is a Highland hotel where for the same price you can enjoy a luxurious meal worthy of a Michelin star.
Despite their obvious differences both share the name The Albannach and this has caused confusion among inspectors of the go-to food guide who have included the tiny B&B on their coveted map of starred locations.
The Albannach Hotel in Sutherland was first awarded its one Michelin star in 2009 and has retained it ever since, including the latest edition of the Michelin Guide which was released on Monday.
While the hotel is included on the list of starred locations it has not been included on the map which has been shared on social media to publicise the release of the updated guide.

Jim McCoy, the owner of the Albannach B&B, expressed his surprise when STV informed him of the mix-up and says it has never happened before in the 11 years he has ran the lodge.
Although the B&B has four stars from the Scottish tourist board Mr McCoy welcomed the mix-up saying they "highly deserved" a Michelin star.
