The man dubbed the most hated man in America has offered the chance to punch him in the face.

Martin Shkreli, a former hedge fund manager, earned his title when he sparked outrage by purchasing the rights to an Aids and cancer drug and increasing its price by 5,000% overnight.

The pharmaceutical entrepreneur hiked the price of the drug from £8.90 to £498.

The pharmaceutical executive announced the raffle on Twitter and said the proceeds would help the family of his friend Mike Kulich, who recently died and left behind a young son who survived cancer.

People who wish to take part are asked to send him a direct message on Twitter.

The fundraising bid has so raised more than £4,500.
