BMW driver targeted in motorway hard shoulder attack
Police are looking to trace the motorist after the assault on the M80 near Stirling services.
A man was attacked by another motorist on the hard shoulder of a motorway.
The victim was assaulted on the M80 northbound around three miles south of Stirling services.
Police Scotland said the man, who was driving a white BMW X1, had pulled into the hard shoulder at the same time as a burgundy Renault Megane.
The 56-year-old BMW motorist was attacked by the other driver as he sat in his vehicle.
Police said he sustained an injury to his face in the incident.
In an appeal put out on Tuesday, police said they hoped to trace the attacker, whose Megane had a 57 plate, after the incident which took place between 9.45pm and 9.55pm on Friday, September 9.
The suspect is described as 6ft, of slim to medium build with short brown hair. Police said he is between 25-35 years old.
A force spokeswoman added: "Enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver of the Megane and we are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who can provide information as to the identity of the Megane driver."
