Central Budapest has been rocked by an apparent explosion, caused by a gas leak.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing an explosion, and videos show police and emergency vehicles attending the scene in the Hungarian capital.

The blast happened at the Oktogon intersection in the Pest section of the city.

Police say the blast was likely caused by a gas leak, and it is believed that two people have been injured by the incident.
