Welcome to Scotland from the Roadside, a weekly gallery showcasing some of the best images from around the country taken by you.

From opportune moments shot on smartphones to breathtaking landscapes captured in high definition, each week we share a selection of interesting pictures taken by people on their travels around Scotland.

We've partnered up with the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook group, a popular destination for trading photos and stories, which has drawn in more than 86,000 members and 500,000 images to date.

Each Friday, we ask the page's creators, Bruce Philip and Linda Curran, to select their favourite photographs from the week gone by.

This week, autumn begins to appear, a flock of goldfinches are caught on camera and even a Tardis are captured on camera, showcasing the very best of Scotland.

Autumn light at Anstruther Harbour by Linda McBride

Bigger on the inside by Rochelle Walters‎

"I work for westjet and was on an overnight in Glasgow. A coworker and I were walking back to the hotel on a Saturday night in August, from the last train stop.

"I saw the Tardis and just couldn't help myself. My daughter and I watch Dr Who and I knew she would love it too. It almost seemed like it was there for a reason."

To a... by Margaret Cooper‎

"We were out walking in the nearby park with my camera as usual, when I spotted what I at first thought was a water rat.

"He was under a wee bridge and I managed to get a few shots before he decided his modeling day was over. I think he is actually a vole."

Colours starting to change by Caroline Walker

"I'm lucky to live and work in one of the most iconic places in Scotland.

"This little piece of heaven on earth is a ten-minute walk from my house. Glencoe Lochan, a haven from the hustle and bustle of life"

Sunrise over Loch Ness by John McKellar‎

"I'm from Perth but live in Cluj, Romania and was travelling with my partner from there, Paul.

"It's his first time in Scotland and as we've been travelling a lot we get to bed early and so rise early.

"We wanted to see the sunrise over Loch Ness. He was quite impressed."

A short walk to Mugdock Country Park by Pyza Podrozniczka‎

"The inspiration, at least the main one, for the picture was the light and colours of the upcoming autumn during the walk in the direction of Mugdock Castle."

Moody washed up boat in Fort William by Keith Smith

"The boat is on the beach at Corpach in Fort William, she washed up last year.

"The prow is really quite interesting from that angle, she is huge when up close."

Serene Forth Bridge by Jan Smith

"I am a newbie photographer. I've always wanted to take a photo of the Forth Bridge to capture its beauty and the sense of dignity it exudes.

"In this photo I think I've managed to convey both plus a sense of serenity. It's one of my favourite places and I never fail to visit whenever I am in the area."

A Flock of Goldfinch at Loch Leven by Allan Brown

"I live only 12 miles from Loch Leven and visit quite regularly. It is quite normal to see ten to 20 at a time feeding on seed heads, but the 'charm' today was about 150 to 200.

"It was was quite difficult to photograph as I was using a telephoto lens and could not capture the whole charm."

Northern Lights on the outskirts of Portree by Craig Fletcher

"This picture was taken around March last year at Torvaig campsite, just outside Portree on Skye.

"It was my first visit and my last night, the perfect end. I fell in love with Skye before then but that was the perfect ending."
