A cyclist was attacked by a van driver in a road rage incident.

The man was assaulted in Bridge of Allan in Stirlingshire following a "verbal altercation" with the driver, police said.

The 59-year-old cyclist was targeted near to the Jam Jar cafe in Henderson Street at around 5.10pm on Sunday, September 18.

He suffered a minor head injury during the incident, while police said the motorist drove his white van away from the scene in an "unknown direction" following the attack.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The driver of a medium sized panel van and a male cyclist were involved in a verbal altercation before the van driver assaulted the cyclist."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
