EasyJet pilots vote for industrial action over fatigue row
Last-minute talks have been offered by the airline in attempt to resolve the dispute.
Pilots at easyJet have voted significantly in favour of industrial action over fatigue.
Roughly 2,000 pilots at the budget airline were balloted over concerns that rising levels of fatigue represent "serious health and safety concerns".
However, last-minute talks have been offered by the airline in attempt to resolve the row, union Balpa said.
According to Balpa, 96% of airline members voted in favour, with a turnout of 88%.
If the industrial action goes ahead, strikes could start as early as October - threatening the half-term holiday.
"Balpa has now received a last-minute offer from easyJet to resolve the dispute and we will consider this carefully in meetings tomorrow before taking any further decisions", General Secretary Brian Strutton said.
"For clarity that means there are no plans for pilots taking industrial action in easyJet at this stage. We will issue further information tomorrow".
