Scrapyard blaze destroys 400 cars on industrial estate
Firefighters spent five hours battling the flames at the Baldovie Industrial Estate.
A scrapyard full of cars was destroyed after a blaze tore though it overnight in Dundee.
Firefighters battled the huge flames at Baldovie Auto Breakers for five hours from 9.20pm.
Around 400 cars were destroyed in the fire but crews were able to save the nearby offices from being engulfed as well.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Forty per cent of the scrapyard was well alight on arrival.
"One pump was originally sent but asked for another two."
Cars were also involved in the blaze, at Beryl Street, which went on until 2.20am.
Three fire engines were sent from Dundee and the police also attended.
