A millionaire businessman has been airlifted to hospital after coming off the "world's fastest motorbike".

Zef Eisenberg was riding the Madmax turbine - which can hit speeds of more than 200mph - when he fell off during the Straightliners "Top Speed" event in North Yorkshire on Sunday.

The 48-year-old is understood to have suffered a broken pelvis.

A spokeswoman for the Madmax race team, owned by Mr Eisenberg, said he "had an accident racing".

The businessman founded sports nutritional product company Maximuscle.

Event organisers say they are working to establish what happened during the race at Elvington airfield.

And it wasn't just bikes that took the tracks.

Matt McKeown set the world record for the fastest ever shopping trolley with a speed of 78mph.

While Kimberly Davey became the fastest woman to ever ride one kilometer on one wheel of a motorbike at 143mph.
