An 81-year-old woman has died after being hit by a van in Arbroath.

Barbara Stormont was struck by the black Volkswagen vehicle on Keptie Street at around 3.25pm on Thursday.

She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where she later died from her injuries.

The van driver was not injured in the crash.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
