This driver had a narrow escape after driving his people carrier off of the ninth floor of a multi-storey car park.

According to police, the car became caught in a wire barrier as the driver attempted to park, leaving it dangling precariously off the side of the building.

Incredibly, the driver managed to crawl out of a window in the vehicle, according to Austin Fire Department.

Pictures showed a large crowd gathered as rescue services eventually managed to winch the vehicle back into the car park.

Writing on their Facebook page, Austin Fire Department said: "The driver was (miraculously) able to climb out of the sunroof and make his way safely back into the garage.

"Now comes the task of getting the car down...or in, as the case may be".
