Police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver who left two people trapped and a young girl injured after a crash in Falkirk.
Firefighters had to cut free a 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man from a Volvo V50 after the incident on Gartcows Road at its junction with Majors Loan at around 10pm on Tuesday.
The woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transferred to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment where she remains in a stable condition.
A young girl who was sitting in the back seat was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and is said to be in a stable condition.
The male driver of the car also suffered minor injuries.
Officers are now appealing for information to find a man who was driving a grey Golf GTI and fled the scene on foot after the collision.
Inspector Andrew Thomson of the Road Policing Unit based in Stirling said: "We are carrying out various lines on inquiry in relation to this matter and I would urge anyone with information that can help us trace the driver of the Volkswagen to come forward immediately.
"Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively an anonymous report on the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
