A man has been reported to prosecutors after a toddler fell from the window of a flat.

The two-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he plunged from the window in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, last week.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene of the incident in Kirkwood Street at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, August 23.

The toddler was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His condition is understood to be stable.

Police launched an investigation into the incident and a man has now been reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "A 29-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with this incident."
