A paedophile who was caught with child abuse images told police it was "difficult not to look" at the material.

Phillip Jeruzal admitted accessing the images after officers searched his home near Falkirk.

Police analysed his computer and discovered he had indecent images of a child as young as eight on it.

The digital content and marketing assistant appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday over the charges.

Jeruzal, 28, of Polmont, was released on bail and put on the sex offenders register while sentence was deferred for background reports.

Prosecutor Catherine Knowles told the court on November 15 last year officers from Police Scotland's cybercrime unit visited Jeruzal's home after receiving information that an IP address at the property was being used to access child abuse images.

Mrs Knowles said: "A warrant was obtained to search the address, the accused was interviewed."

Asked if he had viewed indecent images of children on the internet, the accused replied: "It's difficult not to."

Sheriff Linda Smith deferred sentence until September 22.
