Lifeguards have begun special patrols at Camber Sands in the wake of the death of five friends who drowned off the coast of the East Sussex beach this week.

A temporary RNLI lifeguard service has been stationed at the beach to "reassure the public and advise on safety".

The decision to enforce patrols over the Bank Holiday follows the deaths on Wednesday of Inthushan Sri, 23, Nitharsan Ravi, 22, Kurushanth Srithavarajah, 26, and brothers Kobi Nathan, 21, and Ken, 19 - who were all from London.
