Young man killed in late-night disturbance outside flats

A young man has been killed in a disturbance outside a block of flats.
The 23-year-old victim was found by police seriously injured in the street in Greenock, Inverclyde, but died at the scene shortly after.
Officers were called to reports of an altercation in the town's Belville Street at around 11.20pm on Wednesday. They are treating the death as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 11.20pm on Wednesday, August 24, police attended Belville Street in Greenock following reports of a disturbance.
"On arrival they discovered a 23-year-old man with serious injuries. He died at the scene.
"Inquiries are ongoing and a post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
"Police are treating the death as suspicious. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101."
