An offer has been made on a 2,000-acre North Yorkshire village that went on the market for £20m earlier this year.

West Heslerton in Yorkshire comes with its own 21-bedroom mansion, 43 houses and 2,116 acres of surrounding land.

A pub, sports pavilion, filling station and playing field are also included in the price tag.

Cundalls estate agency confirmed on Monday that an offer has been made, but told ITV News it would take months for the sale to go through.

Eve Dawnay owned the village until her death in 2010, having inherited it from her father in the 1960s, but had no heir to pass it on to.

She wanted the next owner to carry on her legacy of giving villagers cheap rent and supporting the local community.
