It's been an historic year for Team GB athletes making dozens of top-three finishes.
It's been an historic year for British sport, with Team GB athletes claiming an astonishing number of historic top-three wins - making it what many have labelled our best-ever Olympic Games.
Britain finished second in the medal table in Rio overall, beating China, and became the first host nation ever to improve on their home games medal tally at the next competition.
Boxer Joe Joyce scored the final medal of the contest for Team GB with a silver, putting the overall total at 67 - including 27 golds, 23 silvers and 17 bronze.
Among those making the record books was long-distance runner Mo Farah, who became the first person to complete the 'double double' - taking gold in both the 10,000m and 5,000m at two consecutive Olymic Games.
Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh became the first same-sex married couple to win an Olympic gold medal in the same final, while Vicky Holland won Britain's first-ever Olympic medal in the women's triathlon, taking bronze.
Meanwhile, Max Whitlock scored another first for Team GB, snatching gold in the men's floor gymnastics - the first medal of any colour in the event - before taking home the pommel horse gold to boot.
The women's hockey team improved on the silver they won at London 2012 to take their first gold medal in the sport.
And Nick Dempsey became the first male windsurfer to win three Olympic medals when he took silver in the RS:X.
