Gunmen abduct up to 16 people from Mexican beach resort

Authorities said armed men stormed an upmarket restaurant in the city of Puerto Vallarta.
Two vehicles carrying an unknown number of gunmen pulled up outside the restaurant in the city's main boulevard at around 1am, prosecutors in the western state of Jalisco said.
Five vehicles were abandoned at the restaurant, but it was unclear whether they belonged to any of the victims or attackers.
Mexican media reports say as many as 16 people were abducted, but authorities did not immediately confirm the number.
