A driver has been cut free from his van after it flipped on to its side and trapped him inside.

After being cut free from the vehicle by firefighters the man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with a suspected back injury.

The van was involved in a collision with a car on Blinshall Street at its junction with Miln Street at 11.35am.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said officers attended a two vehicle road traffic collision.

She said: "A man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with a suspected back injury.

"A woman has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence and was issued with a conditional offer of fixed penalty notice."
