Man seriously injured after attack outside takeaway

A man was seriously injured in an assault outside a takeaway in Fife.
The 20-year-old victim was taken to hospital in Kirkcaldy after the attack in St Andrews at around 2.20am on Sunday.
He was assaulted outside the Dervish takeaway on Bell Street while on a night out with friends.
The victim was leaving the Vic bar on St Mary's Place when he go into a conversation with his attacker, which escalated into an argument.
The group walked away but police say a short time later the suspect reappeared with several others and he assaulted the victim by punching him in the head and body.
The attacker ran off and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Police are carrying out inquiries to trace the suspect and are seeking the assistance of the public.
The suspect is described as being aged between 18 and 20, of slim build, 5ft 4in with a pale complexion.
At the time of the attack he was wearing a baseball cap backwards, skinny jeans and a zipped hoodie.
Detective sergeant Paula Warrender, of Levenmouth CID, said: "I want to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the assailant or who witnessed this violent attack.
"Similarly, anyone who had been within the Vic bar around the time of this incident and who has information relevant to our ongoing investigation is asked to contact police immediately."
