A man was found dead in his own car at the weekend.

The 50-year-old driver was found by paramedics in the vehicle in Perthshire on Saturday morning.

The ambulance crew attended after a member of the public called 999 to report an "unresponsive" man in a car in Bridge of Earn.

Police were then called in and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation has been launched but detectives say there are "no suspicious circumstances".

"About 11am on Saturday August 6, Scottish Ambulance Service staff attended a report of a non responsive male within a vehicle in Bridge of Earn. He was found to be deceased on their arrival.

"Police officers attended and identified that a 50-year-old male was deceased within his own vehicle.

"There are no suspicious circumstances. Officers are currently attempting tracing next of kin and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
