Police officers injured in machete attack in Belgium
Two officers were reportedly injured after a man attacked them with a machete, local media reported.
Up to two police officers were wounded in Belgium after a man attacked them with a machete shouting "Allahu Akbar (God is Great)".
Belgian media said one officer was wounded in the face and another sustained minor injuries in the attack in Charleroi.
Police said the suspect has been "incapacitated" but remains alive, news broadcaster VTM said.
The Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said he "strongly condemned" the attack and was following the situation closely."Thoughts go with the victims, their relatives and police officers," Michel added.
The attack comes a few months after a suicide attack killed 32 people in Brussels train station and airport, carried out by Islamist bombers.
