Council telephone lines and internet hit by lightning strike

Telephone lines are down at a council's headquarters after a lightning strike.
Stirling Council said the disruption had been ongoing throughout Wednesday, affecting phones and internet at its municipal building on Corn Exchange Road.
It is believed the building was hit by lightning around 3.30am on Wednesday. There was no structural damage but the lightning shorted out a number of circuits.
In a statement on the authority's website a spokesperson asked members of the public to be patient.
It said: "Please be patient if you are experiencing difficulties with the website or telephones.
"IT are currently investigating the extent of the damage and hoping to resume business as usual as soon as possible.
"We are experiencing telephone line disruption due to a lightning strike. We are currently working to resolve this issue. We apologise for any inconvenience."
