Skydiver falls 25,000ft from plane without a parachute in stunt
Luke Aikins successfully completes jump in California into a 'safety trap' netting.
Skydiver Luke Aikins has made history by becoming the first man to jump from 25,000 feet without a parachute.
The daredevil's amazing feat was broadcast live by the Fox channel and watched by a live audience.
Crowds cheered as he hurtled towards the ground at a speed of around 150mph, and landed safety in the 'trap', a net measuring 100 feet by 100 feet, set 20 stories above the ground.
Luke, 42, completed his first skydive at the age of 12, and has racked up thousands of jumps in his lifetime.
His spokesman, Justin Aclin, said the jump on Sunday morning "was the culmination of a 26-year career".
Before the jump, he told media that he would be "stupid" if he didn't feel nervous before attempting the stunt.
He's the first skydiver to even attempt the feat, and will go down in history books as the first to fall from a plane without a parachute or wing suit.
After he landed successfully, the thrilled skydiver said: "I'm almost levitating, it's incredible, this thing that just happened. I mean the words I want to say I can't even get out of my mouth."
