Man detained after suspicious package found at flat
A bomb disposal team was called out to an address in Niddrie on Monday evening.
Police have detained a man after a suspicious package was found at a flat in Edinburgh.
Residents near Niddrie House Square were evacuated as a precaution during the incident on Monday evening.
An Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called out, but the package was deemed to be "not viable."
Police Scotland said a 40-year-old man had been detained in connection with the incident.
The force said the package posed no threat to the public.
