A suicide car bomb has killed at least 14 and wounded more than more in Baghdad.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast outside Khalis, about 80 km (50 miles) from the Iraq capital.

Hospital sources said the death toll was expected to rise given the extent of critical injuries.
