A 5.0-magnitude earthquake shook buildings in Japan's capital Toyko early on Sunday morning.

The quake happened north-west of the city but didn't cause any immediate damage, local media reported.

The Tokai No.2 nuclear power station, around 75 miles north of Tokyo, was halted for checks, while a disused station near the capital was also being checked for damage.

In April, Japan was rocked by two earthquakes which forced over 200,000 people to be evacuated from their homes and left more than 40 dead.

The two earthquakes struck within a day of each other.
