UK's first hand transplant patient uses new limb to save wife
The country's first hand transplant patient has used his new limb to keep his dying wife alive.
Three years ago Mark Cahill who lives near Halifax became the first person in the UK to undergo a hand transplant.
The operation was a success - so much so that when Mark's wife suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago, he used that new hand to perform chest compressions on her until an ambulance arrived.
Mark says he knew his new limb would be life changing - but now it's proved to be life saving as well.
