Man found dead in Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk named
Neil Molloy was reported missing last Thursday and his body was found on Monday.
A man found dead in the Forth and Clyde Canal has been named as Neil Molloy from Falkirk.
A member of the public raised the alarm after discovering the 69-year-old in water near Bainsford at around 3pm on Monday.
Mr Molloy had been the subject of an extensive inquiry after he was reported missing on Thursday, July 7.
His next of kin have been informed and have requested privacy to grieve at this difficult time.
Sergeant Andrew Wright, who is based at Grangemouth Police Station, said: "My thoughts and the thoughts of my officers are with Neil's family and we will continue to offer them support as and when they need it.
"We are currently treating Neil's death as unexplained, however, there are no suspicious circumstances at this time.
"I'd also like to thank to members of the public who came forward and assisted us with this inquiry."
