Two men have been taken to hospital after a "deliberate and targeted attack" in Govan on Monday night.

The injuries of the men, aged 22 and 24, are described as "non-life threatening" and the scene at Langlands Road has been sealed off while police conduct enquiries.

The incident took place at 9.30pm on Monday and police are appealing for witnesses.

Inspector David Macdonald said: "This does appear to have been a deliberate and targeted attack on these two men and I would seek to stress that there is no immediate danger to the general public.

"We are asking members of the public in the Langlands Road area and the wider community to help us with our enquiries into this incident.

"At this time we have extra police patrols in the area undertaking enquiries and they will maintain public safety."

Anyone who has any information that could help the police investigation is being asked to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
