A man's body has been discovered at a lock in the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk.
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
The body was found on Monday afternoon near Merchiston Avenue, Bainsford.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police were called to the Forth and Clyde Canal at lock 6 near Bainsford at around 3pm today after a man's body was discovered in the water.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained however there are no suspicious circumstances at this time.
"Officers are now in the process of informing his next of kin and as in all cases of sudden death a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
