A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a baby was found abandoned in Wigan.

Orsolya Anmaria Balogh, 26, has been charged after the baby was found in hospital toilets in Wigan on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.

The baby was found just after midnight in A&E at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and was resuscitated by medical staff and is now doing well.

A 31-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has since been eliminated from enquiries.
