Man arrested after new-born found 'abandoned' in toilets
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after boy was found in Wigan hospital.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a new-born baby was found abandoned in a hospital toilet in Wigan in the early hours of this morning.
Police have launched an investigation after officers were called to the Royal Albert Infirmary in Wigan just after midnight, this morning, to reports that a new born baby boy had been found in the toilets of A&E.
The baby was found by security staff at the hospital and taken into the A&E ward where he was resuscitated and is now doing well.
The A&E department at the Royal Albert Infirmary was closed overnight but is now open as usual.
