Police are appealing to help identify a man found badly injured in a street in Dundee.

The man, thought to be aged 50 to 60 years old, was discovered injured in Charleston Drive on Monday evening.

He was seen falling over several times before being taken to Ninewells Hospital.

His injuries are described as "life threatening" and he is in a critical condition.

Police believe the man's injuries are not suspicious but are appealing for help to identify the injured man.

He is described as being of medium build and was wearing a dark jacket and black tammy hat with a red band around it at the time of the incident.

He was found close to the junction with Spey Drive at about 6.30pm on Monday July 4.

Police Scotland officers are appealing for assistance in identifying the man and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area to come forward.
