The collision at Pitlochry near the A924 slip road took place at around 3.10pm on Friday.
No one has been seriously injured in the accident but drivers are being advised to expect significant disruption as a result.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland is advising that travel disruption and queues are likely on the A9 Southbound following a collision involving two lorries near the A924 slip road, Pitlochry.
"Please drive with care and expect delays."
An earlier two-vehicle crash at Blair Atholl, near house of Bruar was cleared at 2.30pm.
