Fraudsters using fake £20 notes repeatedly target shops
The counterfeit cash was used at Tesco in Bridge of Allan and a butcher's shop in Dunblane.
Fraudsters using counterfeit £20 notes have targeted shops in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan four times in two days.
Police confirmed Tesco in Bridge of Allan was visited by a man passing off fake bank notes three times on Sunday, June 19.
A Dunblane butcher's shop was visited by a man with another fake £20 just two days later.
It follows similar reports in the area last month.
Officers are looking at CCTV to try to identify the culprits but have also asked members of the public for their help.
Inspector Jim Young said: "We would urge staff to be vigilant as we have seen this type of thing happen quite a few times of late.
"Don't be frightened to challenge anyone acting suspiciously, who may seem in a hurry and are using notes to pay for low value items.
"It may be the case that someone has used a counterfeit note without knowing - so they will be happy for you to take their details and pass them on anyway."
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police on 101.
