A group of schoolchildren who went missing in the Brecon Beacons are being brought back to safety by rescue teams.

The rescue team set off from the village of Abercraf in Powys and will bring the children back to the warmth and shelter of the Tafarn Y Garreg pub.

The children went missing shortly after 1pm on Wednesday afternoon after heavy rainfall hit the Welsh national park.

They were spotted by the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team helicopter, but it was unable to land. Rescue teams then had to walk up the mountain to get to the children and bring them back down to safety.
