An 18-year-old girl who helps care for her mother has been reported missing after disappearing three days ago.

Caitlin Toner, 18, was last seen at around 2.30pm on Sunday at her home in Napier Crescent, Dumbarton, before she was reported missing.

She is described as white, 5ft 2in, of medium build, with green eyes and brown hair usually tied up in a ponytail.

When last seen she was wearing grey jogging bottoms, red Nike TNS trainers, a white top and a black leather type jacket.

Sergeant David Holmes, of Dumbarton Police Office, said: "Caitlin has never been missing before and helps look after her mother who lives nearby but she hasn't seen her since Sunday afternoon, however, Caitlin was in touch with her by text on Monday afternoon.

"At this time we do not know where she is or why she has not been in touch. She tends to keep herself to herself and has a small circle of friends who have not seen or heard from her, as far as we are aware, since Sunday.

"I would encourage anyone who knows where she is to contact police. Indeed, I would urge Caitlin herself to get in touch with either her family or police to let them know she is ok.

"Officers have been speaking to friends and family as well as checking social media, CCTV and searching the local area in an effort to find her but so far no trace."

Information can be passed to officers at Dumbarton Police Office on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.
