Brothers to be sentenced for 'horrific' acid attack on woman
Carla Whitlock was left blind in one eye after Billy and Geoffrey Midmore threw acid in her face.
Two brothers who blinded a mum-of-six in one eye in a "horrific" acid attack will be sentenced later.
Billy and Geoffrey Midmore sprayed drain cleaner in Carla Whitlock's face during a night out in Southampton last September.
They were later convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Prior to the attack, jurors heard the brothers visited several DIY stores to buy a particular brand of drain cleaner called One Shot, which had the highest concentration of sulphuric acid.
Kerry Maylin, prosecuting, said that Geoffrey had sent a photograph of the bottle on WhatsApp to an acquaintance with the words: "This is one face melter".
CCTV of the pair shortly after the attack also showed him giving his friends fist bumps and high fives.
Prosecutors said the attack had been out of revenge after a £2,000 drug deal with an acquaintance of Miss Whitlock's had gone wrong.
Miss Maylin said: "Because that drug deal went wrong, these two brothers decided to enact their revenge by permanently scarring Miss Whitlock."
Describing the attack carried out by Geoffrey, Miss Whitlock told the court: "He just kind of smiled at me, pulled a bottle out.
"I thought he was going to throw a drink at me, but it wasn't a joke. I felt my face was on fire."
