A jet-skier was rescued by a lifeboat after breaking down on the River Tay in Dundee.

Broughty Ferry RNLI took the man to safety after his watercraft developed "mechanical problems" on Sunday afternoon.

The jet-skier phoned his family after breaking down. They then alerted emergency services.

He was found on his powerless jet ski drifting between the Tay Bridge and Tay Road Bridge at around 2.10pm.

The coastguard said he did not require any treatment after they rescued him, while they towed his craft to Broughty Ferry harbour.

When he was returned to the shore he was met by the coastguard, the RNLI said.
