A cow that got its head stuck in a tree was rescued by firefighters on Sunday.

Officers were called to a field in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, and used straps and farm machinery to pull the female cow out.

A vet joined a number of firefighters who helped sedate the cow before using tools to set her free.

North Yorkshire Fire Service tweeted pictures of the rescue, which ended with a photo of the black cow freed and grazing in her field.
