Tennis stars and tartan rockers: Full list of Scots honoured
We look at some of the Scots receiving various honours as the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday.
More than 40 Scots have been honoured by the Queen on the occasion of her 90th birthday with titles being granted from Shetland to North Berwick.
Some are more of a household name than others but each has made an impact - whether it be on their local community, in the wider area or at the pinnacle of their profession.
Many will make a trip in the not too distant future to meet Her Majesty, or another member of the royal family, to be officially bestowed their honour in a grand sense of occasion.
With the extensive list covering the whole of Britain, we have picked out some of the top Scots receiving honours and found out just a little bit more about how the earned the recognition.
The 30-year-old receives an OBE after a year which saw him win the men's doubles title at the Australian Open and also team up with younger brother Andy to help the British tennis team win the Davis Cup for the first time in almost eight decades.
The award brings him level with his brother, who won the same honour in 2013, but another tennis star being recognised this year is Glasgow-born Leon Smith, captain of the successful Davis Cup team, who also receives an OBE.
More commonly known as Rod Stewart to you and I, and was previously made a CBE in 2007 before this knighthood for his services to music and charity.
His Scottish roots can claim him a place on the list (and he would argue his love of Celtic would as well).
The often tartan-clad rocker Rod also has a Hollywood Walk of Fame start to his name.
The man tasked by the Prime Minister with chairing the cross-party commission on Scottish devolution in the wake of the 2014 independence referendum is honoured for his public service and will be made a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour.
Lord Smith also had a key role in delivering the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after being appointed chairman of the event's organising committee.
The pair set up BrewDog in 2007 when they were 24 in response to the "stuffy ales" that dominated the UK drinks market.
Now the Aberdeenshire-based company has 580 employees and opened around 30 bars across the UK and 15 more around the world including Helsinki, Tokyo, Rome and Sao Paulo.
Mr Watt said: "It's amazing to have been awarded something so prestigious - it's incredible to have the craft beer industry recognised at this level. It shows just how far we have come in our nine short years.
"We're building an incredible team of passionate, beer-loving people both at home and internationally, with all of us on a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are."
Originally from Inverness, the 55-year-old was awarded an OBE in 2001 for services to forensic anthropology in Kosovo.
Now she has been awarded a Damehood for her forensic expertise as current director of the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification at Dundee University.
She said: "I am deeply honoured to receive a Damehood and, frankly, more than a little embarrassed. We do not do this kind of work at Dundee to receive honours, we are absolutely committed to providing the best education in forensic science.
"At Dundee, we are among the world leaders in this field. However, it is certainly always encouraging for me and the forensics team here at Dundee to receive recognition because everything we do reflects on the team."
The 53-year-old runs the country's most northern fish and chip shop, which also happens to be one of the top award winners.
In the eight years since Valerie and her husband opened up Frankie's Fish and Chips the business has grown to employ seven full-time and 15 part-time staff members selling business accredited fish from the surrounding area.
It is not just the money made by the business that has earned her the British Empire Medal, Valerie has been the driving force behind a number of charity initiatives raising around £30,000.
The award-winning journalist for The Times broke her neck and back six years ago, leaving her paralysed.
The 58-year-old continued in journalism, however, and used her skills to raise awareness of the issues disabled people face - with services in both of these interests leading to her MBE.
Recently Ms Reid began a regular column at STV News with one entry looking at the power of an episode of British soap EastEnders which featured Dame Barbara Windsor's character taking her own life and how it related to her own experiences.
The founding member of the Glasgow Police Heritage Society has gathered and kept intact the history of policing in the city from around the time of the amalgamation to Strathclyde Police in 1975.
Over the years, the 67-year-old has ensured many documents, photographs and uniforms have been preserved at a museum on Bell Street.
As well as this, and acting as the curator of the museum, Mr Dinsmor visits various groups and clubs to keep others informed about the history of Scottish policing with schools and colleges using Bell Street - and the curator's knowledge - as an important educational tool.
Only last year the 37-year-old helped found the Beach Wheelchairs club, seen above, which helps people with disabilities in North Berwick.
Many of the people in the club were previously unable to take part in activities before the initiative was set up with the special wheelchairs used to a range of surfaces.
Trips to ten-pin bowling, Edinburgh International Climbing Centre and visits from Paralympic badminton players and archers have all come from the vision she had of the club after seeing the wheelchairs while on holiday in France a few years ago.
The grandmother-of-six has volunteered for ChildLine for 12 years and counselled thousands of young people on issues including bullying, self-harm and suicide in more than 1300 hours of volunteering from the NSPCC-run helpline's Glasgow base.
The 72-year-old said: "I was in complete disbelief. Then I called the number to double-check it was meant for me.
"I realised then that my ChildLine colleagues had nominated me. It was overwhelming. Once I got over the shock and surprise, I was absolutely thrilled.
"ChildLine means a lot to me - I love the organisation and everything it does for young people. To be given this medal for my services is a great honour.
"I absolutely love volunteering - it's very rewarding. The children are wonderful - they are bright and so respectful, and appreciative of the time you take to listen to them.
"You get so much back from counselling and it also restores your faith in humanity. It's also nice to give something back to the young people as they really need ChildLine."
